• Q: Who organized The Underground? And what makes them different from the Order of The Phoenix? A: The Underground was organized by six people (Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, and Luna Lovegood) who were members of Dumbledore's Army. This group was established partially because the members of the Order of the Phoenix were made public at the end of the second war. Similarly they have been made into open targets for released and newly recruited Death Eaters, and any move they make against the state would see them killed or thrown in jail. Therefore The Underground operates completely in secret with codenames and disguised identities. They are different from the Order in this aspect, and their willingness to do whatever it takes to overthrow the government. This includes killing, kidnapping, and torturing when it is required. • Harry, Hermione and Neville agree with torturing and killing? How did that happen? A: First of all, the use of killing and torture are only used in extreme circumstances. It is not the general procedure for all missions. Likewise, the sextet have been exposed to torture and the death of family members and friends. Those people have now died for nothing as the Death Eaters are still in control. Finally, these characters each have their own lives. Some of them could even have children at this point. They are no longer acting for their own benefit, but for others. Even Remus Lupin once told Harry that he must be prepared to aim to kill as the Death Eaters certainly would be. Therefore the moderator feels justified in assigning the formation of The Underground to these six individuals. • Q: When did Voldemort make the eighth horcrux? What is it, and what does he now look like? A: Voldemort made his eighth horcrux in late June of 1997, just after the death of Albus Dumbledore. At the time Voldemort was of the belief that it was his seventh horcrux (remember, he did not discover Harry was a horcrux until May 1998)and the death of two muggle children in Manchester served as the means to create it. He stored this portion of his soul in an amulet brought to him by Severus Snape. The amulet was a wedding present from Godric Gryffindor to his wife Glenda. Voldemort looks just as he did before his defeat in 1998, although even more terrifying and warped. He is also extremely emotionally unstable, in the fact that he can barely feel any emotion at all. • Q: Does Voldemort know that his other horcruxes have been found? Does he plan to make more? A: Yes, Harry alluded to it during the final battle and Voldemort sent some of his inner circle to check when he was returned to his body. He does not plan to make more, aware that doing so would mean his own death. He is aware that his soul is fragmented to the extreme, and that he is without any other circumstances with which to live forever. • Q: How active is Voldemort within the controlling of the Wizarding World? A: Essentially he is nothing more than a dictator. The government operates as his puppet, bending to his demands when he makes them. However he rarely does so being more interested in expanding his control into Europe. For this same reason he is content to let the Muggleborns live and work in the Wizarding World, although their time is certainly coming. • Q: How would the Death Eaters control of the government affect my character? A: To the citizens of the wizarding world it is very apparent that Minister Roberts is either a Death Eater or a supporter of them. Death Eaters are released from Azkaban on a regular basis, and often see their Gringotts vaults and private property restored to them with an apology from the Ministry. His laws to prohibit the advancement of Muggleborns and members of the Order are other clues. The wizarding world does NOT know that Voldemort has returned. There have been rumors, but everyone considers those who share them to be mental. Voldemort has made no move to appear to the pubic, and he has no plans to do so. His objective is to extend control into Europe. The Death Eaters can run England as they see fit. • Q: I'm interested in writing Voldemort, can I? A: Unfortunately Voldemort is not up for play. He is mostly a phantom presence within the game, or will be NPCed by the moderator to deliver messages to the Death Eaters. • Q: What happened with the Death Eaters after the Final Battle? A: After Voldemort's defeat most of those able to flee Hogwarts did so. Most of the inner circle (such as Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange) escaped abroad and disappeared into their country of choice. Others were captured by the Aurors and placed on trial, most were sent to Azkaban. Lower level Death Eaters, or those acting under an Imperius curse (of which there are a proven handful) split time in Azkaban and on a probationary period until they were pardoned by the Ministry in 2005. • Q: What happened to the Order of The Phoenix and Dumbledore's Army? The DA could still be useful. A: Members of the Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore's Army were awarded Order of Merlin - Second Class in a ceremony open to the public and broadcast over the WWN. They were all hero's and people still know who they are years later. The difference is that they are now considered the enemy and the Death Eaters are in control. • Q: How was Lance Roberts elected to Minister? Why was Kingsley Shacklebolt assassinated? A: Lance Roberts grandfather was a member of the Knights of Walpurgis and an original inner circle Death Eater. His family have numerous connections to other Death Eaters although they are not as pure as families such as the Blacks and Malfoys. Roberts earned a seat in the Wizengamont at 30, making him one of the youngest members ever admitted and was a popular presence inside and outside the Ministry. He was elected through his apparent leadership ability, manipulation of people, words, and promises, and his charisma. He also stepped onto center stage with just the right words and attitude following the death of Kingsley Shacklebolt. Kingsley was assassinated at his home by Rodolphus Lestrange, operating on an order from Voldemort after Roberts position within the Wizengamont was established. No suspects or arrests have been made in Kingsley's death, the case was closed in August 2005 due to lack of evidence. • The premise mentions that muggleborns live in slum areas of Diagon Alley, what does that mean? Can I have my character live somewhere else? A: Kingsley Shacklebolt authorized an expansion of Diagon Alley which curves to either side of Gringotts. Both sections allowed room for new shops, rows of flats or apartments, and a small park. The right section holds everything that a newly-graduated witch or wizard could like but the left section was built for those individuals who could not afford a large rent payment. Now it is the location of all muggleborns who choose to remain in the wizarding world, and still holds the families who cannot afford to live anywhere else. If you are writing a muggleborn witch or wizard the only other option they hold is living in the muggle world, or being married to a half-blood or pureblood who can hold property in their name. Muggleborns cannot own property within the wizarding world. |
